The short answer
A period VAT and tax summary brings together output VAT, input VAT and the other figures for the quarter or month in one view. It is there so you can see whether the period adds up before you prepare the return. It is not the filing with the tax agency.
Anyone searching for “VAT summary software for a company” or “output and input VAT” usually has a quarter spreadsheet, invoices in Invoicing and a 303 that the advisory firm closes. The work is to read the period, not to rebuild boxes by hand on the 20th.
Vacly Fiscal is €12.90/month VAT incl. 15-day trial. The summary lives in Taxes. [Settlements](/producto/fiscal/liquidaciones), [AEAT forms](/producto/fiscal/modelos-aeat), the [calendar](/producto/fiscal/calendario-fiscal) and [register books](/producto/fiscal/libros-registro) are sibling pages of the same [Fiscal module](/producto/fiscal).
What is a period VAT and tax summary?
It is the working view of the quarter or month: what VAT you charged, what VAT you paid and which other period figures show up. It does not replace the form or the filing.
- For the SME: one period screen, not three spreadsheets and an email saying “send me the bases”.
- For the advisory firm: the same rule across clients. You see the period without opening a different folder per company.
- It starts from invoices and settlements that already exist. We do not invent a bank statement or an automatic accounting entry.
- Output VAT and input VAT are read together. If you only see one side, the period is a lie.
- It does not file with the AEAT. The summary is for deciding and reviewing. Filing, if it applies, is done by you or your adviser.
How do you read output VAT and input VAT for the period?
The quarter goes wrong when issued and received invoices are mixed, or when a duplicate lands twice. The summary has to keep the two sides apart.
- Output VAT: the VAT on invoices you issue. It is the side that usually feeds box amounts on the 303 for VAT due.
- Input VAT: the VAT on invoices you receive. It is the amount to deduct if the cost is deductible and the document is valid.
- The period view adds and compares. It is not a filed settlement. It is the number you work with before you close.
- Invoices live in [Invoicing](/producto/facturacion/facturas-unificado). The tax summary is not that inbox: it is the period, not the document tray.
- If the invoice data is wrong, the summary inherits it. Checking the document is still yours.
What is this summary not (and what should it not sell you)?
“Taxes” sounds like a filing. Here it is a period view built from invoices and settlements.
- It is not form 303 or 111. [AEAT forms](/producto/fiscal/modelos-aeat) are prepared and tracked on their own page.
- It is not the [settlement](/producto/fiscal/liquidaciones): that calculates period VAT and IRPF so you can review before filing.
- It is not the [tax calendar](/producto/fiscal/calendario-fiscal). The calendar flags the deadline; the summary shows the figures.
- It is not the register book. [Issued and received books](/producto/fiscal/libros-registro) are the period book, not this view.
- It is not an Administrativo filing. 111/190 as trámites live in another module. Fiscal does not register you with the AEAT.
What does VeriFactu have to do with this summary?
Almost nothing on this screen. We mention it only as legal context, not as a product and not as a badge.
- The dates in force, after Royal Decree-Law 15/2025, are 1 January 2027 for Corporate Income Tax payers and 1 July 2027 for the self-employed and other obligors.
- Vacly does not claim AEAT certification or an official seal. This article does not sell VeriFactu compliance.
- The period VAT summary is not a billing system and it is not a submission of records to the Agency.
- Anyone who invoices with software will need to review those dates with their adviser. We do not bring them forward or turn them into a button on this page.
- If you want the issued and received inbox, that is [Invoicing](/producto/facturacion/facturas-unificado), not Taxes.
Who is this summary for: the SME or the advisory firm?
Both. The SME wants to see the quarter without waiting until the 18th. The advisory firm wants the same period across the whole book of clients.
- SME: you go in, filter the period and see output VAT, input VAT and the other taxes the module groups.
- Advisory firm: the same view, several companies. The rule does not change because a client uses another spreadsheet.
- The link to forms is there to move from the number to the 303 or the form that applies, not to send it from here.
- Accounting and Banks are different modules. This article does not treat them as automatically connected.
- Price of the [Fiscal module](/producto/fiscal): €12.90/month VAT incl. 15-day trial.
How Vacly Fiscal handles this
[Vacly taxes](/producto/fiscal/impuestos) show the period VAT and tax summary from invoices and settlements: output VAT, input VAT and a view of the quarter or month. They link to forms. They do not file with the AEAT. They are part of the [Fiscal module](/producto/fiscal), together with [AEAT forms](/producto/fiscal/modelos-aeat), the [calendar](/producto/fiscal/calendario-fiscal), [settlements](/producto/fiscal/liquidaciones) and [register books](/producto/fiscal/libros-registro). €12.90/month VAT incl. 15-day trial.
